Diversity of Man

Last night, delegates gathered in a tent in Marriott hotel premises and let themselves go. Stalls were set up by various schools to share their cultures of their home countries with fellow delegates. Some groups of students performed to provide a greater insight to their culture.

The Italian stall, which brought in a faceless Mona Lisa all the way from Milan, could never rest due to their endless line of delegates queuing up to get photographed with their faces in place of that of Da Vinci’s painting.

Most stalls, such as the Indian, Pakistani, German, Turkish and Polish stalls, served their culture’s culinary delights, albeit on a small scale. The German stall found itself out of Kinder chocolates within half an hour.

The performances included poem recital, singing and dancing. Some performances encouraged other delegates to join in such as the Italian, Zambian and Georgetown University representatives. In these performances, most people present joined in.

Delegates left the tent knowing that they had made their nations proud. They left with a lot more friendships than they had when they came, and a lot more stories to tell.
